Running an interior design business involves managing and keeping track of thousands of details, commitments, figures, and dates. Given the unique nature of the design business, I had to adapt and modify those I was familiar with from my business management education and experience. Eventually, however, I developed systems that worked for me, and all that effort paid off over the long run.

Since starting my design consulting business, I have discovered many other designers, including a number of very successful ones, also lacked basic systems in their businesses. They, too, have since discovered the benefits of standardizing many aspects of their businesses.
